Write a Letter to the Editor!

Write a letter to your local newspaper (you can find it from the list here). You have a better chance of getting published than writing to one of the national newspapers. Consider these guidelines to increase your chance of getting published. The most important point: Make ONE point, even if you have a hundred swarming in your head. Be very succinct and add some “color” or “reasoned emotion”, it may increase your chance of getting published.

Nu’man b. Bashir reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.

[Sahih Muslim]

We urge everyone of you to make dua for the people of Gaza. This is a time of great trial and tribulation for our brothers and sisters. Please make dua for them in every Salah, in every sujood. May Allah ease up on them and grant them peace & security. Ameen.

Also be sure to make plans to attend a massive demonstration this Saturday (Jan 3rd, 2009) in NYC in Times Square at 1pm to show your rejection of the massacre in Gaza. See you all there inshaAllah!
